Obituary of Kenneth MacNair

MacNAIR, Kenneth, June 2, 1948  - April 23, 2011. Peacefully at Bluewater Health in Sarnia on Saturday April 23, 2011 Kenneth Alan MacNair, originally from Timmins, in his 63rd year.  Beloved husband of Suzanne MacNair and loving father of Scott (Fabia) of Georgetown, Derek (Donna) of London and Darryl (Tara) of Cary, NC. Dear grandfather of Joel, Mia, Paterson, Elise, Reid, and Grae. Brother of Alexander (Debbie) of Kingston. Cousin and beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews, and brother-in-law of Sandra (Ted) Paluch of Sarnia, Linda Dambremont of Timmins, Michael (Sue) Potvin of Sarnia, Brian (Dawn) Potvin of Sarnia. Predeceased by his brother Brian (’74), his parents Leonard (’81), and Catherine (’84). Ken was originally from Timmins and an avid sportsmen and fisherman.  Ken was respected and admired for his tireless efforts to Timmins Minor Hockey for over 25 years.  Those closest to him knew the continued fight he endured over the last 13 years of his life after being diagnosed with a brain tumor.  A cancer survivor, the brain tumor ultimately cut his life short. His greatest joys the last few years were witnessing the birth of his six grandchildren. Ken will be sadly missed and forever in our hearts. Visitation at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Monday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the McKenzie & Blundy chapel and will be officiated by Allan McKeown. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Brain Tumor Foundation of Canada, 620 Colborne St., Suite 301, London, N6B 3R9.  Messages of condolence & memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com. A tree will be planted in memory of Kenneth MacNair in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest. Dedication service Sunday, September 18th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area
