Obituary of Deirdre Rose Anne Robertson
ROBERTSON, Deirdre Rose Anne (Simmons) – Suddenly and peacefully in her sleep at her residence on Saturday, August 13, 2011. Beloved wife of Graham for 49 years. Proud mother of Nancy Lusk (Leo Blinn), Fredericton, New Brunswick, Julie Robertson (Ian Rodger), Sarnia and Christine Robertson, Sarnia. Loving grandmother of Ryan, Kayleigh, Iona and Buster. Predeceased by infant grandson Carter and sister Marilyn (Terry) Fears, Las Vegas. A lifelong resident of Sarnia, she was the proud owner and founder of Gateway Customs Brokers. Deirdre established herself as a business woman and enjoyed the respect and friendship of her colleagues at the Bluewater Bridge and Canada Customs. Deirdre was generous, fun-loving and quick to help those in need. She gathered friends easily and pets even more easily – enjoying her litters of shih tzu puppies. Deirdre loved boating in her youth, convertibles and more recently, her annual visits to Madeira Beach. She will be missed and remembered always by Graham, her girls and their families and all her good friends. The memorial service will be held at Canon Davis Memorial Anglican Church (Russell at Maxwell) on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 1 p.m. with a reception to follow. Arrangements entrusted to McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia (519-344-3131). As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Sarnia Humane Society, 131 Exmouth St., N7T 7W8.
