Obituary of Bryan Finn
FINN, Bryan Donald – After a brief but courageous battle with cancer, it is with great heartache that the family of Bryan Donald Finn announce his passing on Sunday, August 14th at the age of 67. Beloved husband and true friend of over 42 years to Patricia (nee Lampkin), he will be greatly missed as the proud and devoted father to Dawn (Brad) Finn and Cara (John) Finn Lehman. Forever cherished grandfather to Jaiden Lehman, Dylan McRae and Carter Lehman. Bryan was a hard-working and loyal Bayer retiree, well-known and respected in his field. A gifted athlete, he will be remembered fondly by those who knew him in his youth as a talented hockey and lacrosse goalie. He was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Mary Finn (Herringer), mother-in-law Wanda Lampkin, brother-in-law John Lampkin, and uncle and aunt George and Irene Herron. He is the cherished nephew of Sr. Anne Herringer and Peggy O'Donnell. Beloved friend and cousin to Ann (Glenn) O'Donnell-Beckwith, Mark (Kathy) O'Donnell, Frances Bisnette and Georgina Marks. Best friend to Gerard and Jackie Prentice. He is further survived by his father-in-law Carson Lampkin, brother-in-law Willard (Shirley) Lampkin, sister-in-law Sharon Lampkin, nieces Tracey Lampkin and Leslie (Scott) Lampkin, and nephews Jeff Lampkin, Brad (Cheryl) Lampkin, and Brian (Laura) Lampkin and their families. Bryan will be deeply missed by his family whom he loved with all his heart. Known for his quick wit and love of the game, he will be forever remembered by his golf buddies and all who were privileged to call him a colleague and friend. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where prayers will offered at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Antony Kolenchery at Sacred Heart Church on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the ICU and palliative care unit at Bluewater Health for their continuous care and support. A tree will be planted in memory of Bryan Finn in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest. Dedication service Sunday, September 18th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area
