Obituary of Fred Chambers
CHAMBERS, George Frederick “Fred” – With family by his side at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Friday, September 9, 2011, Fred died peacefully at the age of 75. Beloved husband and best friend of Carol (Taylor) for 35 years. Loving step-father of Lynn (Bill) Hyatt and Charlotte (Allan) Cooper. Proud grandfather of Chantel (Steve Butterfield), Michael (Jamie) Cooper, Casandra and Nicholas Hyatt; and great-grandfather of Charlie and Logan Butterfield and Rylan Cooper. Dear brother of Robert (late Lily) Chambers and Virginia Huggins-Egan (late Don Huggins and late Joe Egan). Predeceased by his parents Gordon and Florence Chambers, brother Raymond (Veryl) Chambers and sister Violet (Gene) Atyeo. Fred was a former Sea Cadet and sold cars for 46 years through Duke Waller and Anning Motor Sales. Fred loved music and held a great interest in WWII, but most of all he enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A celebration of Fred’s life will be held at the Navy Club, 1420 Lougar St., on Sunday, September 25, 2011 from 1-4 p.m. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 519-344-3131.
