Obituary of Gale Fortney
FORTNEY, Dorothy “Gale” – Peacefully with family and friends by her side at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Thursday, September 22, 2011, Gale died at the age of 56. Loving mother of Michelle Fortney. Best friend and companion to “Chick” Dan Waybrant. Dear sister of Brian Payne (Jane), Deborah Payne-Joyce (Steve) and Linda Tyler. Much loved aunt to Rachael, Lisa, Sean and Daniel Payne, Austin Payne-Joyce, and Patrick and Samantha Tyler. Predeceased by her father Floyd Payne (2011). Family and friends recently shared in a Celebration of Gale’s life with her about a month ago. The memories of this treasured occasion will remain forever in their hearts, as Gale will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Gale was a member of the Unitarian Church, volunteered with the Organization for Literacy and she was a trusted confidant for many people through AA and NA. A Memorial Service will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Friday, October 7, 2011 at 12 p.m. with Allan McKeown officiating.
