Obituary of Homer Côté

CÔTÉ, “Homer” Joseph Aimé Omer – At St. Joseph’s Hospice on Saturday, October 15, 2011, Homer died peacefully with his wife by his side at the age of 91.  Beloved husband of Rita for 66 years.  Loving father of Michael Côté (Pat), Windsor, Lorraine MacLachlan (Jim), Petrolia, Christine Crouch (the late Tim), Chatham, Paul Côté (Doris), Sarnia, Linda Kaech (Douglas), Canmore, Alberta and Margaret Conroy (Bud), Calgary, Alberta.  Proud grandfather of Russell Côté, Dr. Kimberley Morin (Dr. Jason), Joel MacLachlan (Cari), Jennifer denBrinker (Frodo), James Haskell (Brenda) and Aimée Haskell, Melissa Crouch (Bryan) and Jamie Crouch (Bree), Cherilyn Côté, Alfie Kaech and Niels Kaech (Chrissi), Miles Kaech (Rose); and great-grandfather to several great-grandchildren.  Dear brother of Clair Côté and brother-in-law of Florence Côté, Eileen Dunn and Ken Tomlinson.  Predeceased by his parents Lucien and Emilie, grandson Bob MacLachlan, brothers Constant, Maurice, Phillip and Peter Côté and sisters Lorraine Côté, C.S.J.,  Margaret Morrissey and Suzanne Tomlinson.  Homer was a retiree of Prestolite after 34 years of service.  He was an avid golfer and sportsman and inductee into the Sarnia Sports Hall of Fame.  Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Tuesday from  2-4 & 7-9 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Tony Laforet at St. Benedict’s Church on Wednesday, October 19th at 11 a.m.  Interment Resurrection Cemetery.  As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice, 475 N.
