Obituary of Florence Mary Sowinski

SOWINSKI, Florence Mary (Kuiack)   - At Bluewater Health, Palliative Care on Friday, January 13, 2012, Florence died peacefully with her four daughters “Kachkas/little ducks” and family by her side at the age of 85.  Beloved wife of the late Paul Sowinski (2006) for 58 years. Devoted mother to Tony, Toronto, Maryann Edgar (John), Sarnia, Frank, Forest, David, Sarnia, Patricia Cruickshank (George), Midland, MI, Alan (Sue), Calgary, Theresa Hicks, Sarnia, Ronald (Patricia), Sarnia, Leonard, Sarnia and Doreen Podetz, London. Florence will also be missed by special family friend Mary Jane Frayne.  Loving grandmother of 26 and great-grandmother of 10.  Dear sister of Sister Mary Goretti, Toronto, Basil Kuiack (Hildred), August Kuiack (Juanita), Sarnia, and Patrick Kuiack, Barry’s Bay.  Sister-in-law of Frances Thompson, Sarnia, Helen Chynces, Sarnia, Theresa Sarcevich, Ottawa, Agatha Gosselin, Sarnia, Peter Sowinski (Peggy), New Liskeard and Kay Jackson (Ken), Sarnia. Predeceased by her parents August and Anna Kuiack, brother Florian Kuiack, brothers-in-law Joseph Sowinski, James Gorecki, Tom Thomson, Alex Chynces and Dan Sarcevich, Guy Gosselin and sisters-in-law Jenny Sowinski and Anastasia Gorecki.  Florence was a compassionate and giving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who lived her life in a spiritual way and will be remembered for her love of family.  She was an active member of the St. Vincent de Paul.  Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 7 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church on Tuesday, January 17 at 10 a.m. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.  As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, 714 Lite St., Pt.
