Obituary of Assunta Domenichini

DOMENICHINI, Assunta – At Bluewater Health on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, Assunta died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 85.  Beloved wife of the late Loreto Domenichini (1978).  Loving mother of Frank (the late Karen) (2011) Domenichini and the late Antonio (2003) (Pamela) Domenichini.  Proud grandmother of  Danielle (Dimitri) Beline, Lauren Domenichini (Jamie) Violo, Christina Domenichini, Angela (Jason) Ganiatsas, and Alessandra Domenichini; and great-grandmother of Gracie.  Dear sister of Lisa (the late Pasquale) Lupi, Fiorino (Pasqua) Rotondi, the late Frank (Gina) Rotondi.  Predeceased by her parents Giovanni and Emilia Rotondi.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Assunta was a wonderful mother and grandmother.  She began working with her father on their farm as a young girl and continued to work hard providing and caring for her family after leaving home.  In 1965, Assunta immigrated to Canada with her husband and children in order to offer them a better life.  Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 8:30 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Antony Kolenchery at Sacred Heart Church (Charlesworth at Lecaron Ave.) on Friday, January 27 at 11 a.m.  Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.  As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to Bluewater Health Foundation, 89 Norman St., Sarnia, ON  N7T 6S3.  Messages of condolence and memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com A tree will be planted in memory of Assunta Domenichini in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest.
