Obituary of Gladys Jones
JONES (McKellar), Gladys Gertrude - at Twin Lakes Terrace, on Monday Jan. 30, 2012. Gladys died peacefully at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late W. Carman Jones (1999), loving mother of Ann Donaghue, John & Virginia Jones, the late David Jones (1994). Proud grandmother of Darrin & Tiffany Acton, Diane Acton & Ken Nicholson, Michael & Kimberley Jones, Becky Jones, Nathan & Kathyrn Jones, and Joshua & Sabrina Jones and great-grandmother of Kaylee Acton, Brittany Quackenbush and the late Tyler Quackenbush (1999), Brittany Jones and Chad Jones, Ridley Jones and Ella Jones, Lillian Jones and Noah Jones, Destiny Nicholson and Nolan Nicholson and former daughter-in law Gretchen Jones. Special companion of John McKinley. Also survived by sister-in-law Aileen McKellar, special cousin Ruby Ripley and special long time friend Ivy Schultz. Predeased by her parents J. Hugh and Augusta McKellar, brothers Gordon (Margaret) McKellar, William McKellar, and Blake McKellar, and sister-in-law Thelma (Geoffrey) Brydon. Gladys was a lifelong member of Central Baptist Church and a member of Grace Kenyon Mission Circle. She enjoyed her time on Tuesday morning’s quilting with the girls. Gladys and Carm were members of the Swinging 8's Square Dance Club for many years. A Celebration of Gladys’ life will be held at Central Baptist Church on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dave Stephens officiating. A private family interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 519-344-3131.
