Obituary of Vivian Rachel Salustro

SALUSTRO, Vivian Rachel (Derby), with dignity and grace, embraced by the love of her family, at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia, passed away on February 16, 2012 at the age of 64.  Vivian will be missed by all who loved her.  She leaves to cherish her memories, long time friend and companion Duane Stone, daughters Cara Salustro ( Jeff Mills)  and Diana Benitez (Sergio) and  grandson Renzo Benitez.  Also survived by siblings Patricia Greene (Timothy),  Rod Derby, Candy Lou Derby, Crystal Harrison, Rick Graham and many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by parents Stella & Rod Derby and grandparents Anna & Stephen Jackson.  Vivian’s death has left a great hole in the hearts of many, but will be remembered with much love and profound gratitude for all that she has given.  Her greatest pleasure was giving to others with love, spirituality, kindness and a sincere devotion to all her family and friends.  Her selfless love and compassion will continue in our hearts with tender memories of her.  Cremation has taken place.  A memorial visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia on Friday, February 24 from 6-9 p.m. Visitation will be held at St. Benedict’s Church from 10-11 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Fr. Jim Higgins at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2012.  A luncheon in the church hall will follow.  Private family interment will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery at a later date.  Vivian will be laid to rest with her mother Stella Derby.  As an expression of sympathy friends who wish may send memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice, 475 Christina St. N., Sarnia, N7T 5W3.  Messages of condolence and memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com.
