Obituary of Nils Einar Aronson
ARONSON, NILS – It is with great sadness we announce the death of our cherished godfather Nils Aronson on Thursday, March 29, 2012. Nils fought hard but it was not to be. He is the loving husband of Georgina (Gina). Life long family friend of Velda & Len Koote. Cherished god father of Char Stevens (Dan), Pam Tate (Lenn) Katherine Scimmi (Greg), Doug Koote (Sandy), Ben Koote (Lawrie). Nils was like an adopted grandfather to Samantha. Predeceased by his parents John and Ruth. Nils was more than just a friend and god father, he was a member of our family and we will surely miss him. Born in Sweden, he spent his youth working the ocean freighters and loved to share his adventures with all of us. Nils loved to fish, to travel and take pictures. He turned his love for photography into a career, teaching photography at Sheridan College for many years. Together for 55 years, Nils and Gina spent many years travelling before settling down in the peace and quiet of Kirkfield where Nils could take his boat out and fish every day. He loved to bring fresh fish home for his cats, which were like his children. Choosing to be closer to family, Nils and Gina moved to Sarnia several years ago. A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday March 31, 2012 at the McKenzie & Blundy Chapel. Cremation will follow. Arrangements entrusted to the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 519-344-3131. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the charity of choice. Messages of condolence and memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com
A tree will be planted in memory of Nils Aronson in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest. Dedication service Sunday, September 16th, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area
