Obituary of Scott Nicholas Violette

VIOLETTE, Scott Nicholas – Suddenly on Sunday, April 1, 2012, Scott died at the age of 46.  Cherished son of Kay-Ann Violette (nee Shimskey) and Paul (Nancy) Violette.  Predeceased by his grandparents Nick and Kathleen Shimskey and Roger and Yvonne Violette.  Dear nephew of Jacqueline (the late Reino) Siren, Pauline (J.P.) Gauthier, Jack (Nancy) Violette, Andy Violette and the late Mike Violette.  Also survived by several cousins in Canada and The United States and his many close friends in Sarnia.  Scott was an enthusiastic Chicago Black Hawks fan and a “walking encyclopedia” of knowledge of the ships that sail the Great Lakes.  On Sunday morning he collapsed while watching the trains, another one of his favorite pastimes. Heartfelt thanks to the Via Rail employees for their special attention and care of him until emergency personnel arrived.  Thank you also to Dr. Sean Peterson and the staff in the emergency department of Bluewater Health.  Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.  A Celebration of Scott’s life will be held in the McKenzie & Blundy Chapel on Thursday, April 5 at 11 a.m. with Bill Strachan officiating.  As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 774 London Rd., Sarnia, ON  N7T 4Y1 or a charity of your choice.
