OLSEN, Mona Marie – Suddenly as the result of an automobile accident, Mona died on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the age of 77.  Beloved wife of the late Erik (2011).  Loving mother of Sharon Kloostra & her husband Mark of Chatham.  Proud grandmother of Kirsten and Erik.  Dear sister of Owen & Isabelle McKenna, Alice Campbell all of Nova Scotia; and sister-in-law of Janet McKenna.  Survived by many nieces and nephews who were very special to her.  Predeceased by parents John and Sara McKenna, siblings Neil (Teenie) McKenna, Harold McKenna, Nora (Clyde) Nunn, Leo (Gloria) McKenna, Winnie (John) Andrews, Chrissie, Gish (Teresa) and Eleanor (Dick) Toner; and brothers-in-law of Donnie Campbell, Arne Olsen, Poul Olsen.  Mona brought her Maritime spirit with her when she settled with her husband Erik many years ago.  She was dedicated to the children she worked with in the school system for 20 years.  Mona was especially proud of the friendships she was able to develop with her colleagues and students, friends, and her many neighbours otherwise known as the “Briarfield Gang”.  Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 8 p.m.    Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday, May 8 at 11:30 a.m.  As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Parkinson Society of Canada, 4500 Blakie Rd., Unit 117, London, ON, N6L 1G5 or the charity of your choice.
