Obituary of Reta Jay

JAY, RETA – After a brief illness, at Bluewater Health on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Fred. Dear mother of Stephen (Heather) Jay, Point Edward and Michael Jay, Paisley. Loving grams to Chandler and Christopher. Predeceased by brothers John and Joseph Pirrie. Aunt of John, David and Daniel Pirrie. Reta was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church and the Women’s Guild. She was a longtime member of the Sarnia Yacht Club and was the race committee timer for over 35 years. This year Reta received her 45 year pin for volunteering at Sarnia General Hospital/Bluewater Health. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431. N. Christina St., Sarnia on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.  The funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 210 Michigan Ave., Point Edward on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 2 p.m. and will be officiated by the Rev. Ray Jenkins. Private interment at Lakeview Cemetery at a later date.  As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Leukemia Research Fund, 936 The East Mall, Etobicoke, Ontario, M9B 6J9 or the Sarnia Yacht Club Jr. Sail Training Program, 1220 Fort St., Sarnia, N7V1M2.  Messages of condolence and memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com A tree will be planted in memory of Reta Jay in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest.
