MacKENZIE, Evelyn Marie (Reid) – In Sarnia on Sunday, December 30, 2012, EVELYN died at the age of 95 after a life with no regrets. Beloved wife of the late Rod MacKenzie. She was born in Wheatley, became a dental assistant in Leamington, proudly served her country as a sergeant in the Canadian Women's Army Corps during World War II in London and Ipperwash, moved to Yellowknife with her new husband in 1951 and then to Sarnia, where they raised their family and were active in Dunlop United Church. She loved her husband, family and many friends, as well as music, travelling, her garden, a good laugh, a good cup of coffee and the Detroit Tigers.  Predeceased by her parents Neta (Thompson) Reid Mills and Milton Reid and sister Maude (Reid) Smith. Survived by her daughters Janet (Toronto) and Gayle (London). A graveside service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery on Friday, January 11th at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 519-344-3131.
