Obituary of Isabel Hazel Plant

PLANT, Isabel Hazel (nee Bennett) – At Bluewater Health on Thursday, May 16, 2013, Hazel Plant died at the age of 82. Beloved wife of the late Richard Plant (1997). Loving mother of Rex Plant & his wife Mary Weir, Hamilton; Sheila Plant & Bob McKiernan, Hamilton; Mark Plant & his wife Barbara, Wilkesport; Simon Plant, Newmarket; and Margaret Plant-Theodore & husband Robert, Chilliwack, BC. Proud grandmother of Jessica, Brendan, Evan Plant-Weir, Aiden, Rhys, Elliot Wiechula, Jason, Jon, Susan, Andrea Plant, Ben & Emily Hood and Dawn Theodore. Great-grandchildren Angelo & Gabriele Tinebra. Dear sister-in-law of Stan Blackman and Geoff Plant, England. Cherished friend of Hazel, Lil, Jim, Lynne and John. Predeceased by parents Albert & Isabela Bennett and sister Marjorie Blackman. Special thanks to all her friends, especially Barbara at the Kenwick Place. Hazel was a 30 year member of the British Canadian Club where she loved to act in their shows. A devoted Coronation Street fan, she was proud of her British heritage. A long time parishioner of St. Benedict's Church where she was a proud member of the Catholic Women's League. Hazel loved a good cup of tea and she enjoyed knitting for her family and friends. An avid cribbage player, she especially loved to win. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431. N. Christina St., Sarnia on Monday, May 20th, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Jim Higgins at St. Benedict's Church on Tuesday, May 21st at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow. Private interment at Our Lady of Mercy Mausoleum.
