Obituary of Theresa Foley

FOLEY, THERESA ROSE – Born January 8th, 1931 in Sarnia, Theresa Foley passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Lambton Meadowview Villa, Petrolia at the age of 82. Theresa married her true love, Norman Foley, on October 24th, 1953 and together they raised their family in Sarnia. Loving mother of Diane Pooles (Ian) of Toronto, Gail Ferguson (Bruce) of Sarnia, Michael Foley (Susan) of Sarnia, Karen Godin of Sarnia and Valerie McClellan (Jack) of Marysville, MI. Proud grandmother of Anton, Jennie, Laura, Jason, Brittany, Timothy, Jessica, Amadalyn, Bonnie-Rose and step-grandmother of John, Andrea and Mark. She will also be sorely missed by her cousin Ruth Dunn of Sarnia. While living in Sarnia, Theresa was a member of the Delta Chi Sigma Sorority, the Sarnia-Lambton IODE and the Sarnia Yacht Club. Norm and Theresa sailed many places together but loved the North Channel most. They moved to Elliot Lake in 1992 and Theresa became secretary of the Elliot Lake Cancer Society and was on the Board of Directors of the Adult Learning in Retirement group. She was also a member of the quilters group, the Horticultural Society and volunteered for the St. Joseph's Hospital. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Tuesday, August 27th 1-2 p.m. The funeral service will be held following visitation at 2 p.m. in the McKenzie & Blundy Chapel with the Pastor Keith Patrick of Bethel Pentecostal Church officiating.
