Obituary of Albert Adam Arvay

ARVAY, ALBERT ADAM - Peacefully at Fiddicks Retirement Home, Petrolia on December 13, 2013, Albert Arvay died the day after his 96th birthday. Beloved husband of the late Helen Isabelle Arvay (2002). Albert was the youngest of 7 siblings all of whom predeceased him. Dear uncle of Carol Strvalkawski & her husband Stanley, Port Huron, Michigan and Ron Smith & his wife Louise, Scarborough. Great uncle of Laurie Vandenbossche & her husband David, Port Huron, Michigan and Robin Esquibel & her husband Andrew, Port Huron, Michigan. He will also be missed by dear friends Brenda & Ira Downer and family, Petrolia. Al was a retired Railway Engineer and worked for the Grand Trunk Railway, USA. He served in the US Army from 1942 to 1946 in France and Germany. Al loved to read and do crossword puzzles and was an avid golfer into his 80's at Marine City Golf Club. A special THANK YOU to Fiddick's and Dr. E. Daniel for the wonderful care that they provided the past 6 months. Also, to anyone who helped Al on his journey of 96 years, including Dr. C. Greensmith, Murray at Pier 100, Anne Marie at Cranberries and the staff at the OLG Casino in Point Edward, please know your kindness was appreciated. Cremation has taken place. Private interment at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, (519-344-3131) As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to charity of choice.
