Obituary of Mary Esther MacInnes

MacINNES, MARY ESTHER (PROUD) - Peacefully at Vision Nursing Home on Wednesday, January 08, 2014, Mary Esther MacInnes died at the age of 87. Beloved wife for over 62 years to the late Angus (2012). She will be sadly missed by her loving children David (Glenda), Anne (Robert Templeton), and Beth (Mayson Carson). Cherished grandmother to her only grandchild, Fraser Carson. Dear sister of Muriel McLachlan, Thomas (Betty) & Walter (Elaine) Proud. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Reginald & Clara Proud, sisters Beatrice Lane, Doris Deans, and brother Elmer Proud. Esther was a graduate of the Sarnia General Hospital Nursing Program(1948) and worked as a nurse for many years. She was also very active in Presbyterian churches in both Sarnia & London. Esther's passion was her family. She loved to bake and entertain and always put others before herself. She will be missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her. The family would like to thank the amazing staff on the 2nd floor at Vision Nursing Home. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, Friday, May 2nd from 10 - 11 am. A memorial service will be held immediately following visitation at 11 am in the McKenzie & Blundy Chapel officiated by Rev. Andrew Reid. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to New St. James Presbyterian Church, 280 Oxford St. E., London, ON N6A 1V4 or The Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario, 774 London Rd., Sarnia, N7T 4Y1.
