Obituary of Ross Campbell

CAMPBELL, Ross Duncan – At Afton Park Place on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Sylvia for 64 years. Loving father of Dan (Clair) Campbell, Mitchell's Bay, John (Laurie) Campbell, Sarnia, Cathy (J.P.) Prevost, Burlington and Marjorie (Barry) Dickens, Sarnia. Dear grampa of Dave, Crystal, Steven, Melissa, Josh, Diane, Jennifer and Ross. Great-grandfather of 8. Brother of Ken, Doug, Joyce, Joan, Isabelle and Nancy. Also surviving are several nieces & nephews. Predeceased by a son Kevin Campbell and brothers Charlie and Jack. Ross was a member of Local 663 Plumbers & Pipefitters Union for over 60 years and a longtime member of Bluewater Anglers. He was an avid fisherman spending many hours on the boat with his brother Ken. Ross also enjoyed playing golf with his grandson Dave and brother Charlie. He had a real passion for attending flea markets trying to find a bargain. Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free I'm following the path God has chosen for me I took his hand when I heard him call I turned my back and left it all I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work or play Tasks left undone must stay that way I've now found peace at the end of the day If my parting has left a void Then fill it with remembered joys A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss; Oh yes, these things, I too will miss Be not burdened with times of sorrow Look for the sunshine of tomorrow My life's been full, I savoured much Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch Perhaps my time seems all too brief; Don't lengthen your pain with undue grief Lift up your heart and peace to thee God wanted me now – He set me free In keeping with Ross's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service. Arrangements are entrusted to the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 519-344-3131. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Bluewater Anglers, P.O. 174, Sarnia, N7T 7H9.
