Obituary of Wayne Manson Hoover

HOOVER, Wayne – On Friday, February 21, 2014, Wayne, age 90 died peacefully with his family by his side at Vision Nursing Home. Beloved husband of the late Evelyn "Ruth" nee Parsons (2013). Loving father of Murray & his wife Shirley, Kingston, Diane Welsh & her husband Michael, Port Huron, Maureen Kaczkowski & her husband Stephen, Lake Country, B.C., Carolyn Walsh & her loving partner Cam Kohut, Bright's Grove and James Hoover, Sarnia. Proud grandfather of 11 and great-grandfather of 9. Brother-in-law of Lucille Hoover, Toronto. Predeceased by parents Milton & Clara Hoover, son David, daughter-in-law Janice Hoover and brothers Neale and Rhys Hoover. Wayne was employed as a mechanic at Polysar for over 40 years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed golfing and gardening. He will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered. A special thank you to the staff at Vision Nursing Home for the care provided over the past seven years. Visitation will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 6482 Telfer Rd., Bright's Grove on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 from 12-1 p.m. followed by a service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Paul Schallhorn officiating. Interment Lakeview Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to St. Joseph's Hospice, 475 N. Christina St., Sarnia, N7T 5W3. Arrangements are entrusted to the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 519-344-3131. A tree will be planted in memory of Wayne Hoover in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest. Dedication service Sunday, September 21st, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area
