Obituary of Brian John McNeil
McNEIL, BRIAN JOHN – Surrounded by his family at Bluewater Health, Palliative Care, Sarnia, Monday, February 24, 2014, Brian McNeil died at the age of 70. Beloved husband of Lois for 49 years. Loving father of Bob & his wife Trish, Bright's Grove, Kelley Elliott & her husband Darrin, Bright's Grove, Deborah Mackay & her husband Colin, Minneapolis. Proud grandfather of Aidan, Garrett, Nathan, Sydney, Allison, Joey and Payton. Dear brother of Alex McNeil (Patti), Toronto, and Kevin McNeil (Francis), Cambridge and brother-in-law of Pat Landry, Calgary, Don Landry (Gerry), Bob Landry (Anna), Jack Landry (Louise), Charlotte Landry, and Paulette Hamilton (Bill), all of Nova Scotia. Special uncle to Craig, Todd, Kyle and Brent. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Alexander & Sylvia McNeil, brother Denis McNeil and his wife Marge and sister-in-law Joan Landry. Brian was a man who loved his family dearly. He was hard working, loyal and determined. Brian served in the Royal Canadian Navy as a Marine Engineer in Halifax where he met and married the love of his life Lois. He was a Millwright at Terra for 37 years. Always helping others, Brian loved to volunteer his time at the Hospice and St. Vincent De Paul Society. Brian was a handyman who was always on a mission for another project to tackle. He had a passion for travel and loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Wednesday, February 26th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Festus Komolase at Sacred Heart Church on Thursday, February 26, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
