DELANEY, CHARLES JAMES “JIM” – It is with great sadness the family of Charles James Delaney, 95, anounces his passing at Bluewater Health in Sarnia on October 10, 2010. Loving husband of the late Ruth (1989). Jim was the beloved father of Judy Draker, sadly missed grandfather of Amy Draker-Jones and Matthew Draker & his wife Marcy, and great-grandfather of Nicholas Jones and Elijah & Wesley Draker all of Sarnia. Also survived by brother John (Pat) and many nieces & nephews. Predeceased by parents Charles and Lucy Delaney and sisters Ettie, Thurley, Helen and Frances. We will miss Jim’s sharp mind, his wonderful interest in the people and world around him. We are thankful that he enjoyed his family and friends for so many years and cherish the memories of their laughter. Special thanks to the staff of Rosewood Manor for enriching the last years of Jim’s life and to Dr. Borek for his care. Friends and family are invited to a reception celebrating Jim’s life on Saturday October 23, 2010 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the home of his niece Mary Anne & Ray Campbell, 678 Algoma Place, London, ON. Arrangements are entrusted to the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, SARNIA, 519-344-3131. Jim was born and lived in London until the age of 90 and then moved to Rosewood Manor in Sarnia to be with family but always thought of London as his home. A WWII veteran serving with the Canadian Army in England, France and Holland, Jim returned to London to become the proprietor of Delaney-Dymond Furniture until his retirement when he and Ruth spent time with family and enjoyed many lovely trips. We will miss Jim's sharp mind, his wonderful interest in the people and world around him. We are thankful that he enjoyed his family and friends for so many years and cherish the memories of their laughter.
