CHARLAND, Claude (Mon Ami) – Peacefully surrounded by his family at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at the age of 71. Beloved husband of Lucie (Simoneau). Dear father of Mario (Stacey) Charland, Stoney Creek, Michel (Peggy) Charland, Sarnia, Benoît (Janet) Charland, Sarnia and Manon (Romy) Charland, London. Loving grand-papa of Denise, Nicholas, Jaime, Joshua, Alycia, Natasha, Justin, Eamonn and Anya. Brother of Carmen, Marielle, Rolande, Cecile, Lise, Nora, Claire, Pauline and Louise. Predeceased by parents Léa & Conrad Charland and by brother Jean-Paul and sister Denise. Mon Ami was a member of Local 663 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. Claude’s uniqueness and love for music will live on through his children and grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. Glen Maddison, Dr. Monique Dostaler and the staff and volunteers at St. Joseph’s Hospice for their care and compassion during Claude’s illness. Visitation at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Terence Runstedler at St. Thomas Aquinas Church on Monday at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. As an expression of sympathy friends who wish may send memorial donations to the St. Joseph’s Hospice, 475 N.
