McCORMACK, Katherine Florence (McEachern) – With family by her side at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Thursday, July 15, 2010, Kay died at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late William Francis McCormack (1991). Loving mother of Dennis (Cathy), Anne (Colin) MacDonald, Corunna, Bill (Dianne), London, Patty (Frits) Janssen, John (Sheila Zanyk), Guelph, and Brenda McCormack (friend Kevin). Proud grandmother of Emily and Sean (Cara) McCormack, Carol (Wayne) Bee, Patty Lynn (Ryan) MacDonald, Carrie (Shawn) MacDonald and Robert MacDonald, Kellie (Rob) and Michelle McCormack, Sarah (Mike) Graham, Karla and Michael Janssen, Daniel, Jack, Shona Zanyk McCormack, Hayley and Sydney Patterson and friends, Marisa and Carmen. Proud great-grandmother of Grace, Abigail, Kathleen, Curtis, Olivia, Cooper, Ainsley, and Lilah. Dear sister of David (Anne) McEachern, Wyoming, Anna Peck, Florida, Betty (Gil) Murray, Ottawa, Sally O’Reilly, Joan (John) Hawkins, Windsor, and Colleen (Harry) Kendall, Calgary. Dear sister-in-law of Catherine, Al (Elsa), Hugh (Lorraine), Bernadette (Bernie Gillis), Robert (Rita), Ed (Carol), John (Pat). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Mary and Duncan McEachern; infant daughter Mary Catherine; brothers Dan and Stephen McEachern and brothers-in-law Jim O’Reilly and Walter Peck. Also predeceased by her mother and father-in-law Albert and Catherine McCormack, and other extended family Joe (Win), Alex, Ron, Marie, and Mary (Frank). Kay graduated from the St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia in 1946. She will be remembered for her many years of dedication as an obstetric nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Sarnia. She was a member of the St Benedict Catholic Women’s League. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where prayers and eulogy will be offered at 7:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Ross Bartley at St. Benedict’s Church on Monday, July 19th at 10 a.m. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
