Obituary of Jeanne Ruypers

RUYPERS WINTRAECKEN, Jeanne - One hundred years after her birth in 1914, Jeanne said "dag" or good-bye for a final time on Good Friday 2014. She was an inspiration on two continents and in two languages. Jeanne was a reader, a journal writer, a cyclist, a walker, and the consummate mother. She valued her family, her religion, her wardrobe, and her retreats to Valkenburg. She is survived by her brother Harry, her children John (Jan), Anne (David), Ieteke (Sal), Yonika (Dale), Gus (MaryAnn), Bert (Louise), Fran (Doug), Mike (Ginnie), 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Jeanne was predeceased by her loving partner Joe (1987) and five siblings. The family wishes to extend gratitude to the staff at Marshall Gowland Manor. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431. N. Christina St., Sarnia on Monday from 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Jim Higgins at St. Benedict's Church on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 2 p.m. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank, 106 S. East St., Sarnia, N7T 7H9.
