GERRARD, Mildred Ruth – At Bluewater Health, Palliative Care on Thursday, July 8, 2010, Mildred died at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late Douglas E. Gerrard. Loving mother of Douglas G. Gerrard (Irene) of Edmonton, AB, M. Joy Hogg (David) of Harrietta, MI, and Frances A. McDonald (Gerald) of Sarnia. Proud grandmother of Matthew Hellens, Natalie (Michael) Fij, Kyle (Nadine) Hogg, Andrea (Geoff) Good, Sam Hogg, Katie (Matt) Fain; and great-grandmother of Ainsley Mae Hellens and Gabrielle Larissa Fij. Dear sister of Joyce (the late Dr. Murray) Bryant and the late Betty (the late Donald) McGregor. Cherished by her many nephews and nieces. Predeceased by her parents Watson H. Porter and Anne (Jackson) Porter. Mildred was a graduate of Ontario College of Art 1937, having been taught by several members of the Group of Seven and was a proud participant of Sarnia’s Painting Ladies group. Special thanks to the staff at North Lambton Lodge, Forest, ON for their care of Mildred and Dougie Gerrard. The funeral service will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church on Friday, August 6, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will take place in St. Thomas at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 519-344-3131.
