COLUCCI, VIOLANTE (POLSINELLI). It is with great sadness that Violante Colucci's family announces her death that occurred on October 24, 2007 at Bluewater Health - Mitton Site, Sarnia, while surrounded by her family and close family friends. Violante was born in Arpino, Frosinone, Italy on June 20, 1921 to Carmine Polsinelli and Liberata (Benaquista). She was the 6th of 7 children. Violante immigrated to Canada in 1971 with her daughter-in-law and granddaughter while her son came the year prior. Violante is predeceased by her husband Onorio Colucci, parents, half brother Benedetto, siblings Teresa, Maria, Emilia, Vito and Pietro Polsinelli, brothers and sisters-in-law Romolo & his wife Assunta, Giulio & his wife Luciana, and Pierina (Colucci) and Lori in Italy. Violante's surviving family includes her only son Domenico & his wife Concetta, Sarnia, her cherished grandchildren Anna Maria, Burnaby, B.C., Paolo and his wife Debby Stothers, Sarnia, her sister Domenica (Polsinelli) Iafrate, France and sisters-in-law Iolanda Polsinelli, France, Fausta (Tarola) Colucci (late Armando), Italy and Anna (Colucci) Poggi (late Adolfo), Italy. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and family in France and Italy. Her family would like to thank all the staff and nurses at Twin Lakes Terrace for their ongoing care and support during the past 5 years while she was a resident there. All your efforts will not be forgotten. Violante's family would also like to thank the staff, nurses, and doctors at Bluewater Health for their care and compassion, which will not be forgotten, during her final days. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Len Desjardins at Sacred Heart Church on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Entombment Our Lady of Mercy Mausoleum. DUE TO FAMILY ALLERGIES PLEASE DO NOT SEND LILIES. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 415 Exmouth St., Sarnia, N7T 8A4 or the charity of their choice.
