Obituary of Maria Teresa Van Werde

VAN WERDE, Maria Teresa - At Bluewater Health Palliative Care on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the age of 87. Beloved wife of John for 51 years. Dear mother of Marianne (Tim) Van Werde-Bailly, Oakville and Lynda Van Werde, London. Loving Oma of Scott and Brian Van Werde-Bailly and Marcus and Malik Van Werde-Virgo. Great-Oma to Eli Virgo. Sister of Lisa (late John) Vermeulen, Joseph (Freda) Leenders, Andre (Ann) Leenders, August (Myrl) Leenders, Albert (Kathleen) Leenders, Eugene (Willy) Leenders, Herman Leenders and Richard (Gladys) Leenders. Predeceased by parents Johannes & Huberta Leenders. Maria was a member of the Catholic Women's League for 50 years. She was an active volunteer for many years for various organizations including Lambton Right to Life, Rayjon Sharecare and the Canadian Cancer Society. Visitation at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Eugene Dziedzic at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 566 Rosedale Ave. (at Ellwood). Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
