Obituary of Wiliam Ferris

FERRIS, WILLIAM HENRY "HARRY" died on Monday, October 15, 2007 at Bluewater Health - Palliative Care at the age of 79. Beloved husband of Mary (Wiley). Dear father of Bill, Sarnia, Jim & his wife Jane, Toronto, Bob & his wife Tricia, Corunna and David & his wife Andrea, Toronto. Cherished "Papa" of Troy and Kyle of Corunna, and Connor, Liam and Delaney of Toronto. Brother of John & his wife Joan, Sr. Margaret Ferris, CSJ and May O'Meara all of London. Brother-in-law of Bill & his wife Margaret Wiley, Perth and proud uncle of many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Henry & Kathleen, son John David and sister Eileen. Harry was a graduate of DeLasalle High School, London and the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He practiced with Revenue Canada, Massey Ferguson, Ferris and Leigh and Ewart Holbrook and Associates. He joined BDO Dunwoody in 1977 as a senior partner from where he retired. Harry served with many charitable organizations and service clubs including the Sarnia Kinsmen Club and the Sarnia Kiwanis Club and was an active member of the Sarnia Golf & Curling Club for over 30 years. The family would like to thank Dr. Glenn Maddison and the staff of the Bluewater Health Palliative Care Unit for their attentive care and support. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Thursday at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.
