Obituary of Kenneth Eber Kinch

KINCH, Dr. Kenneth Eber - Suddenly, Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at home, age 82, of Sarnia. Loving father of Barbara Young (Randy) of Sarnia, Sandra Lamoureux (Maurice) of Oakville, and Kathy Hynes (Rick) of Sarnia. Proud grandfather of Jeffrey and Becky Young; Catherine, Marc and Eric Lamoureux; and Andrew and Jonathan Hynes. Predeceased by his wife Elizabeth (Bette), parents Eber and Gertrude, sisters Doris Sutton and Phyllis Hume. A graduate of the University of Toronto Medical School, Class of '48, he interned at both Toronto Western and Sunnybrook Hospitals, qualifying for his specialty in Internal Medicine. He enjoyed a varied and interesting medical career. He served one year as a ship's surgeon with the Canadian Steamship Lines on the Beaverbrae which transported Displaced Persons from Europe to Canada. He worked in industrial medicine at Imperial Oil, Sarnia and spent summer vacations along with his family as the doctor at Camp Comak in Dorset. In 1960 he went into private practice in Sarnia where he developed a special interest in the areas of juvenile diabetes and cardiac rehabilitation. Because of this, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association in lieu of flowers would be appreciated. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St. on Friday, July 27th from 7-9 p.m. only. A Celebration of Kenn's life will be held at Canon Davis Memorial Anglican Church on Saturday, July 28th at 11 a.m. with the Ven. Dr. Gordon J.J. Simmons officiating.
