Obituary of Dr. Harry Brown

BROWN, Dr. Harry – Peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of the late Delphine (2013). Loving father of Leslie Vella & her husband Tony, Waterloo, Rick Brown & his wife Carol, Oakville and Tracey Hoey and her husband Keith, Burlington. Cherished grandfather of Nathan (Natalie), Nikki (Prab), Spencer & Sasha Vella (Andrew) and Josh (Nadia) & Elise Hoey and Lisa Brown (Matt). Proud great-grandfather of Drew, Kate and Jayla. Dear brother of Gladys Enns. Predeceased by parents Elton & Grace Brown, brother Tom Brown and sister Shirley Reid. Harry was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1942 to 1945. Graduated from Western University Medical School in 1952. Practised Family Medicine with Drs. Doug and Archie MacKinlay from 1953 to 1986. Served as President of the Medical Staff at the Sarnia General Hospital, President of the Lambton Medical Association and Chairman of the OMA Public Health Committee for 3 years. Also practised at Petrosar from 1979 to 1996. Was an active member at the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club since 1954. Golf was his passion and he was lucky enough to enjoy 4 holes-in-one. There will be no funeral home visitation. Cremation has taken place. The funeral service will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Raymond Hodgson officiating. The family will receive friends at the Sarnia Golf & Curling Club immediately following the funeral service.
