Obituary of Clare Spence Graham

GRAHAM, Clare Spence - Peacefully on September 25th at Marshall Gowland Manor, Clare Spence Graham passed away at the age of 91. Clare is the beloved husband of Edith Marjorie Bish for 68 years. Loving father of three sons, Keith (Sandra) Mark (Loretta deceased) and Steven (Joanne). Grampa to Jason (Natalie) and David (Carlie) Randy, Crystal, Michael and Great Grampa of 5.

Clare was the adopted son of Annie Mae & Ralph Stevens of London where he attended Lord Roberts Public School. In London he married Edith in 1955 and made his way to Sarnia shortly after pursuing employment. This led to a 37-year career as an Industrial Millwright/ Mechanic at Polymer/Polysar.  Known to his coworkers as Slim and Spence to The Bish Clan he was a fixture in the Tree Streets for 60 years.  His purposeful stride was closer to a run than a walk. He covered most of the city to get some exercise, catch a hockey or baseball game, umpire a softball game (Chest Protector Optional for the young kids?), find a card game, or maybe even quench his thirst before returning to Maple Ave.

The family would like to express their gratitude to all of the nurses and staff at MGM and Rosewood for their care and compassion the last 6 years. Your commitment is immeasurable.

Cremation has taken place. A family internment will follow at a later date.  Arrangements entrusted to the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (519-344-3131).   In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed by a donation to Pathways Health Centre for Children 1240 Murphy Rd., Sarnia, N7S 2Y https://www.pathwayscentre.org or Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Sarnia Lambton, https://sarnia.bigbrothersbigsisters.ca 10 Lorne Crescent, Sarnia, N7S 1H8 would be appreciated.
