Obituary of Mary Jane Woodhams

WOODHAMS, Mary Jane – With family by her side, at Bluewater Health on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at the age of 92, Mary Jane went to be with her Lord and reunite with her loved ones.  Beloved wife of the late Thomas (1986).  Loving mother of Jane (Brian) McLellan and the late Tom Woodhams; and step-mother of the late Patricia (Michael) O’Meara, the late Joanne (the late Ross) Aiken and Barbara Tully.  Proud grandmother of sixteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.  Dear sister of Cora Braun, Alice Ziegler and Ann (David) Harris.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Mary Jane worked as a registered nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital.  She was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Mercy Church, a long time member of the C.W.L. and St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary.  Mary Jane made many friends and had an active social life for many years in the Red Hat Society and with her aquatics group.  She will be remembered by her family as a loving and generous mother and grandmother.  Mary Jane was extremely interested in her children’s lives and enjoyed following and hearing about her grandchildren’s activities.  Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Wednesday, February 22nd from 10-11:30 a.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Antoine Laforet later on Wednesday at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church at 2 p.m.  Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.  As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 415 Exmouth St., Sarnia  ON  N7T 8A4.  Messages of condolence and memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com   A tree will be planted in memory of Mary Jane Woodhams in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest.
