Obituary of Vince Petrucci

PETRUCCI, Vincenzo (Vince) Ugo – It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend. Vincenzo Petrucci, age 73, died surrounded by his loving family at Bluewater Health Palliative Care on Thursday, November 1, 2012. Vince will be forever loved, remembered and cherished by his loving wife Claudia of 52 years and their children, Adriana & her husband John Vani, Dino & his wife Lisa Petrucci and Lisa & her husband Frank DeSena. Special and loving Nonno Vince to his grandchildren Maria, Christina and Bennett Vani, Julia, Anthony and Michael Petrucci and Joseph, Eric and Lauren DeSena. He will also be fondly remembered by his sister Delia & her husband Ercole DeSantis and his sister-in-law Marisa & her husband Gino Stirpe and his nieces, nephews, cousins and many other extended family and dear friends. Predeceased by parents Saverio & Antonia Petrucci. Vince was born in Rosanisco, Italy in 1939 and immigrated to Canada in 1956. He proudly dedicated himself to the electronics industry and was the co-owner & operator of Keelan’s Service Centre for 47 years. For many years Vince & Claudia were Eucharistic ministers at St. Peter’s Church and also brought communion to the sick and shut-in. He gave his time generously, serving on  community and church committees. He was a charter member of the Dante Club Sarnia and also the Knights of Columbus Council 11128. Vince poured the first pile of special bocce court sand into the Dante Club Bocciofila. Bocce was one of his favourite pastimes and he enjoyed playing twice a week until this past September. A man of great integrity, humility, faith and love, Vince was most passionate about the well-being of his family. His heart filled with joy for all family celebrations and especially whenever his grandchildren were near. A man of few words, Vince was respectful and kind with everyone he encountered and expressed his love through his generous actions. He loved to play his extensive collection of music at social functions so everyone could enjoy dancing and celebrating, especially he and Claudia. Friends will be received at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 8:30 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 5, 2012 at Sacred Heart Church (Charlesworth at Lecaron Ave., Sarnia) at 12 noon.   Entombment Our Lady of Mercy Mausoleum.  As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to Bluewater Health, Palliative Care, 89 Norman St., Sarnia, N7T 6S3 or the Knights of Columbus Council 11128, 651 Temple St., Sarnia, N7S 6Z1.
