Obituary of Dimas Pereira Pimentel

PIMENTEL, Dimas – At Bluewater Health on April 4, 2013 died at the age of 76. Beloved husband of Maria Alice for 45 years. Loving father of Eusebio, Mariana and Alexandre. Proud grandfather of Alysa and Dimas. Dear brother of Veneranda, Manuel and Adel (deceased). Dimas brought his family from the Azores in 1974 and gave them a wonderful life in Canada. He was an active member of the Sarnia Portuguese community and a long-time parisioner of Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church. Dimas was a hard working family man who farmed in Portugal and was a valued member of the Labourer's Union in Sarnia. He loved working outdoors with his friends, telling stories, and never turned down a good (or bad) glass of wine. There will be no funeral home visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Raju Allumpurath at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 2 p.m. Interment at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431. N. Christina St., Sarnia. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, 390 N. Christina St., Sarnia, N7T 5V9. A tree will be planted in memory of Dimas Pimentel in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest. Dedication service Sunday, September 15th, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area
