Obituary of Yvonne Dolores Braet

BRAET, Yvonne, Dolores (Peavoy) - Surrounded by family at St. Joseph's Hospice, Yvonne Braet died on Monday, December 22, 2014 at the age 79. Beloved wife of Maurice (Moe) Braet. Loving mother of Paul Harris, Sarnia, Dave Harris & his wife Mary, Owen Sound, Ann Jenkins & her husband Doug, London, Michael Braet & his wife Colleen, Milton, Edward Braet, Sarnia, Paul Braet, Sarnia and Sheryl Howson & her husband Jim, Kingston. Cherished grandmother of Sarah Langtry (Derek), Emily Feairs (John), Paula Matheson (Kevin), Jacob Walker and Stephen Walker. Great grandmother of Cole & Carson Langtry, Landon Ross, William and Gracie Braet. Also survived by her brother Tom Marsden (Michelle), Australia, brother-in-law Roger Braet (Maddy), Petrolia and many nieces & nephews. Predeceased by her parents Cecil & Donalda Peavoy, brothers Robert & Dan Peavoy. Family was Yvonne's passion. She loved people and she had an infectious laugh. Yvonne enjoyed painting, cooking and quilting. Home is where the heart is and no matter where they lived, she made that home comforting and welcoming. She was a member of the St. Benedict's CWL and the Royal Canadian Legion. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Lori Kolano, the staff & volunteers at the Hospice for the compassion & care they gave Yvonne. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431. N. Christina St., Sarnia on from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2014 where prayers will be offered at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Lucio Couto at St. Benedict's Church on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. Cremation to follow with private family interment at a later date.
