Obituary of James Reginald Powell

 POWELL, James Reginald – Suddenly at home on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, James “Jim” Powell died at the age of 86.   Beloved husband of Maxine. Loving father & step-father of Fred Powell and Carolyn Barnes, Sarnia, Kim Smith & her partner Bruce Lester, Corunna, Diane Fowler & her husband Bob, Belleville, Brenda Hanley & her husband Terry, Cambridge, David Edgington & his wife Patty, Michigan, Gail Coleman & her husband Larry, Virginia, Cheryl Waddington & her husband Garry, Blue Point, Donna Ling & her husband Ken, Karen Bonkoski & her husband Dennis and Rodney Edgington, all of Michigan. Proud grandfather of 25 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Dear brother-in-law of Fay Powell, Sarnia. Predeceased by his parents Reginald & Alice, brothers Arthur & Albert and sister Alice Cundick. Also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Jim will also be missed by his two loving dogs, Mandy and Lady. Born in Peterborough, Jim moved to Lambton County with his family over 60 years ago. He worked for over 30 years for Prestolite. Although Jim loved to golf his passion was for square dancing. For 34 years Jim and Maxine danced together.   He was a member of the Bluewater Square Dancers in Sarnia. Cremation has taken place. In following Jim’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 519-344-3131.
