Obituary of Kelly Geary

GEARY, Kelly - It is with great sadness we announce, after a short battle with cancer, Kelly Geary died, surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at St. Joseph's Hospice. Beloved husband of Gayle (Watson) for 44 years. Loving father of Jeff Geary & his wife Shannon, Greg Geary & his partner Stephanie Karsay, Sarnia and Lori Geary and her special dog Bodhi, Pt. Edward. Cherished grandfather of Kylie, Avery, Jake and Allison Geary. Dear brother of Peter Geary (Eleanor), St. John's Nfld. and Rosemary O'Brien, N. Carolina. Brother-in-law of Larry Watson (Valerie) B.C. and Donna Graham, Sarnia. Predeceased by his parents Nat & Gert Geary. Kelly was so proud to be from Point Edward. He loved sports and spent many years coaching minor hockey, football and baseball. Kelly was a volunteer firefighter in Point Edward, past Chair of the Point Edward Police Service Board, five term Pt. Edward Municipal Counselor and a member of the Pt. Edward Ex Serviceman's Club. He will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by all his family and friends. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish may make a donation to St. Joseph's Hospice, 475 N. Christina St. N., Sarnia, N7T 5W3 where he spent his final days so lovingly cared for. Sincere and heartfelt thanks go to Dr. Glen Maddison and the wonderful staff who made that time so dignified and peaceful. The family would also like to thank the staffs of Bluewater Health Palliative and the C.C.A.C. In honouring Kelly's wishes, cremation has taken place.
