Obituary of Arthur David Palmer

PALMER, Arthur David – Peacefully at Bluewater Health on Friday, August 30, 2013 at the age of 82. Beloved husband of the late Irene Lillian Palmer for 57 years. Loving father of Susan & her husband Gary McAlpine, Thedford, Mike Palmer & his wife Candice, Calgary and Chris Palmer & his wife Sue, Sarnia. Granddad of Rebecca and Melissa Carr,  Megan, Alyssa, Shayla & the late Raelyn Palmer, Kelly Bendall & her husband J and Kevin Palmer. Brother of Sylvia Bayes & her husband Bill, Lindsay. Also surviving are nephews Peter, Paul and John Bayes as well as several relatives in England. David was born in London, England on October 8, 1930. Eventually meeting his wife Irene, they came to Sarnia in 1957 where he worked at Catalytic and started A.D. Palmer & Associates in 1969. David was an avid golfer and spent many days at Greenwood Golf Club where he was a longtime member. David's family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at Rosewood Manor for their caring ways and sense of humour which made Dad's stay there thoroughly enjoyable. His family would also like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Cheong and the nursing staff at Bluewater Health 4th Floor for treating Dad and his family with the utmost dignity and respect while he was under their care. At David's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 519-344-3131. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may forward memorial donations to St. Joseph's Hospice, 475 N. Christina St. N., Sarnia, N7T 5W3.
