SABOURIN, Irene Blanche – At Marshall Gowland Manor, with family by her side, Irene Sabourin (Fangeat) died on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Rheal Sabourin (1978). Loving mother of the late Claude Sabourin (2013), Reg Sabourin (Sue), and Lorraine Bourassa (Jean- Marc). Special mother-in-law of Mary Sabourin and Corinne Sabourin. Cherished grandmother of Garrett and Danielle Sabourin, Elise Boyle (Steve) and Jordan Sabourin, and Natalie, Justin, Chantal and Michelle Bourassa. Great-grandmother of Cash, Cruz and Ava. Dear sister of Tim Fangeat (Suzanne). Predeceased by her parents Marie Anne (Lajoie) & Jules Fangeat, brothers Hector, Ray and Eddy Fangeat and sisters Madeleine Capeless, Therese Gelinas and Ernestine Kadour. Irene was a kind and patient teacher beginning her career in Timmins in a one room schoolhouse. She came to Sarnia and settled in Bluewater with Rheal. Irene taught for many years at l'ecole St. Thomas d'Aquin. She had a strong devotion to her faith and family. Her family was her greatest treasure. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her. Visitation at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Kathemo Makucha at St. Thomas Aquinas Church on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, 749 Baseline Rd.
