NEWELL, GRACE MARY – On November 8, 2013, Grace Newell died peacefully at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late Leonard G. Newell (2005). Loving mother of Betty Lou (Al Dunlop), Barbara (Gary Black), Mike (Linda), Randy (Shelley). Cherished grandmother of Whitney Black, Bradley Black, the late Jessica Newell (2010), and Cody Newell. Great-grandmother of Ida Newell and Ian Black. Dear sister of Dr. James L. Asselstine. Grace was a committed Sarnian who was: president and a longstanding member of University Women's Club; a member of the International Symphony; founder and member of I.O.D.E. chapters; a volunteer and board member of CNIB; a member of Central United Church; and a teacher, avid bridge player and world traveler. Many thanks to Grace's friends who enriched her life. In keeping with Grace's wishes, a private interment service will be held. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to Central United Church, 220 George Street, Sarnia N7T 4N9. Arrangements are entrusted to the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 519-344-3131.
