Obituary of Sylvia May Wise

WISE, SYLVIA MAY – Dear relatives, friends and acquaintances, I am writing to let you know my mother passed away in her 91st year on December 27, 2013. Mom was predeceased by my father Jack Wise (June 2013). Saddened by her loss are myself (with Lynn Johnston), her granddaughter Jennifer Welbourn (with Chris Welbourn) and her great-granddaughters Faith and Ava Welbourn. Mom was a person who always made people feel welcomed. She was caring, kind and loved those individuals close to her. She lived an independent, active life. In her early years she was an artist, which talent later translated into sewing. Any time you visited, Mom would never let you leave empty handed. Mom was always Dads co-captain whether it was sailing the shores of Lake Huron or the St. Clair River or driving in a car to any destination. Mom and Dad organized the largest parade Sarnia has ever had, in the Centennial year (1967). She worked at Earl C. Smith in Port Huron for 38 years. Cremation has taken place. We will hold a celebration of her life in the spring and it will be announced in the Sarnia Observer. Thank you to those staff members at Trillium Villa and at Afton Park Place who took the time to share their moments with Mom. Thank you to the Bluewater Health staff who kept Mom comfortable in her final days. You guys 'Rock'. Messages of condolence & memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com A tree will be planted in memory of Sylvia Wise  in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest.
