Obituary of Judith Ann Bandura
BANDURA, Judith Ann (nee Jones) – Peacefully surrounded by her family with her favourite music playing, Judith Bandura was called to be with her Lord and Saviour, at Bluewater Health on Monday, May 26, 2025, at the age of 87. Judith was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Bandura (2018). Loving mother of Tamie (Bill Hoekstra), Karen (Dale Sayer), Sandy Lush and Mark Bandura (Aaron Brown). Cherished grandmother of Stacie (Brent), Matt (Robyn), Samantha (Dan), Kurtis (Allie), Kevin (Zoe) and Annie (Trevor). Great-grandmother of Ethen, Averie, Aubrie, Liam, Lucas, Scottie and Millie.
Dear sister of Norine (Paul Barr 2020), Marge (Ray Taglietti 2019), Glyn (Judy Jones), the late Rick Jones (2017) Linda Jones and sister-in-law of Mary Jane (Bryan Ferrell). Judy was a very outgoing person who loved to socialize. She built numerous strong friendships throughout her life which she cherished. The family would like to mention and thank Lois McNeil and Mary Mitro for the unwavering support of Mom in recent years.
Judy’s family meant everything to her. Whether it was the numerous vacations with Tamie, Karen and Sandy (usually casino related), outings with Mark to plays and musical events, the regular lunch dates with her grandchildren or the regular visits with her great-grandchildren, she cherished each and every moment. Her legacy of family love, connection and devotion will live on in all of us.
The church was a second home to Mom. Her and Dad joined St. Benedict parish in 1959. She was deeply involved in supporting her Catholic faith. A long standing member and past President of the CWL – she was awarded her 60 year service pin a few years ago. She initiated and led the very first folk group at St. Benedict, sang in the choir, served as a Eucharistic minister at nursing homes, involved each year at the church bazaar and was a leader/mentor at many of the church sponsored Retreat events.
Music was a passion in Mom’s life. She was a member of the Polysar Glee Club for 38 years often taking on lead roles in their productions. She volunteered for years at St. Benedict School as a music teacher which brought her great joy.
In respecting Judy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. However all are welcome to attend and celebrate her life with us at a Mass of Christian Burial. It will be held at St. Benedict Church on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 1 p.m. Private Entombment at Resurrection Mausoleum. Arrangements entrusted to the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre Ltd. (519-344-3131).
