SARSON, Wayne – Wayne passed away at Bluewater Health on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at the age of 77. Beloved husband of Julie Palmer for 40 years. Dear father of Shawn Sarson and Kim Sarson (Mel Sansome). Brother of Linda Knight (late Greg Kime). Uncle of Josline, Christine, Alexa and Jazmin, and great uncle of Ethan and Brianna. Brother-in-law of Julie’s sister Veronica Easdale (Bill) and the late Jane Le Clair and Bill Palmer, as well as uncle to many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by parents Donald and Mary Sarson and brothers Alan and Bryan.
Born in New Liskeard, Ontario, Wayne joined the Canadian Army at the age of 16, and over a 24-year military career was stationed in Germany, the Canadian Arctic and Ottawa. He retired with the rank of Sergeant, and for the rest of his life was fondly known to many as “Sarge.”
He moved to Sarnia in 1985 to make a new life with his love Julie, took a job as a Molson brewery rep, and over the next 24 years made many, many friends throughout the community.
Wayne was a kind, gentle and generous father, husband, friend and family member. He was, simply, a good man.
At Wayne’s request cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Arrangements entrusted to the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 519-344-3131.
As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 62, 286 N. Front St., Sarnia. Messages of condolence and memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com.
