George James Theodore Freeman, P.Eng.
October 19, 1946 – March 25, 2025
George is survived by his wife, Judith (Bellamy) Freeman, and his stepchildren, Leanne (Ken) Muir and Jamie (Deb) Long. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jayme (Dr. Tom) Filgiano, Megan Muir, and Hope, Adrianna, and Wade Long, as well as his great-grandchildren, Klay and Casey Filgiano.
George was predeceased by his father, Clarence Freeman; his mother, Jennie (King) Freeman; his brother, Dr. Nelson Graham Freeman; and his first wife, Lynne Freeman.
George met Judy in their later years and loved being a welcomed addition to the family. He took great joy in watching his new grandchildren grow, mature, graduate from university, and begin their own journeys. He delighted in the lives of his great-grandchildren.
Throughout his life, George faced various health challenges, especially in recent years. During this time, the support of good friends and family helped him maintain a sense of normalcy. A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful friends and neighbours who supported him: Tara, Ron, Jack, Phil, Lee & Annette, Ron & Kim, Donna & Rick, Monica & George, Dee, Lynne, Lisa, Mike & Judy, and Linda & Chris. Your kindness during George's journey meant the world to him.
George was fortunate to have received excellent care from the medical teams at Bluewater Health, including Dr. Macmillan, Dr. Mousseau, Dr. Shettar, the Palliative Care Team, and the exceptional nursing staff. We are also grateful to family physician, Dr. Peterson and his staff.
At George’s request, he has been cremated with no visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Bluewater Health Foundation or a charity of your choice in George’s memory.
We are heart broken by the loss of our Newfie, George, and will miss him always.
