Obituary of William Arthur Hardy

HARDY, William “Bill” Arthur – Suddenly at home, Bill Hardy died on Monday, March 17, 2025, at the age of 81.  Beloved husband of Shirley (nee Cracknell).  Loving father of Kelly Hardy (late Loni), Tracy Hardy (Julie) and Robbon Kippen.  Cherished grandfather and great grandfather of many. Dear brother of Terry, Jeffery, Michael (Ann), Nancy Lacey, Paula Hardy and Lori Hardy.  Brother-in-law of Evelyn Durnin (Merv) and Corrie Cracknell.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his parents Robert & Pauline Hardy, siblings Robin & Eldon Hardy Anne Marie Learn.  Also predeceased by his parents-in-law Jim & Phyllis Cracknell and his sister-in-law Cheryl & husband Grant McKenzie and brother-in-law Orlo and Dale Cracknell.

Bill started his career working at Holmes Foundry. He spent many years in home renovations with his sidekick Gary. He then worked in sales with Cogeco (many knew him as Cogeco Bill) and IMS.  He was a member of the Sarnia District Bowling Association, Air Cadets, Royal Canadian Legion and the Sydenham Rebekah Lodge.  Bill was always up for a good conversation.  He enjoyed so many pastimes; garage sales, reunions, theatre and the senior boat rides on the Duke. Bill loved spending time with his family and of course celebrating his own birthday.  Where there was food, you would find Bill. 

The family would like to express their gratitude to Bill’s #1, Anne Marie Gunn for her exemplary care and friendship.  Also, a thank you to the Community Care Paramedics for their wellness checks and care over the years.   

Visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N. on Monday, March 24^th, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, March 25^th at 1:00 p.m. in the McKenzie & Blundy Chapel.   The service will be live streamed.  To register to view please follow cut and paste this link into your web brower any follow instructions.
