Our sincere condolences to the Walker family at the passing of Dennis. Lorraine Peters worked with Dennis at the MOE lab in London from 1972 until it closed in 1996. I (Steve) played hockey with Dennis on the MOE team for 3 years in the early 1970s at the old Hockeyland Arena in London. He was a great hockey player and we called him “Reds” for his red hair and fiery temper!
I have enclosed a picture of some of his team mates at that time. We have fond memories of Dennis during that time and unfortunately lost contact with him after the closing of the London lab. I’m sure he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Rest in Peace, my friend and defence partner!
Respectfully, Steve and Lorraine Peters

Our condolences to the family. The Blackman’s, like in Rich Behattel’s tribute, also have great memories of growing up as cousins to Dennis. Learning/trying to waterski behind his Dad’s boat remains a fond memory. Sadly, as we raised our families, we fell out of touch. But we still recall how he made us laugh and reminisce.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Dennis Walker.
Dennis was one of those individuals that you would always be glad to see and speak with - he was truly one of a kind and will be missed by everyone that was fortunate enough to have known him.
That is a legacy that few people have.
So so sad!
Dan Gaudenzi (MOE 1984 - 2014)

Kathy, Danielle, & Christopher. Joan & I just learned today of Dennis passing. He is one of the good guys. Worked with Dennis at MOE since 1974 at the new London office and then in Sarnia. Played pick-up hockey with him back in the day. Boy could he skate! Loved the game. His enthusiasm , sense of humour and laughter affected everyone who knew him. Will truly miss Dennis. RIP my friend.

Kathy: The loss of Dennis, your partner and friend for 45 years, must be difficult for you, your children Christopher and Danielle, your grandchildren Casey, Cody and Oliver, your brothers and sisters and everyone who knew and loved him. Missing the physical presence of someone we love is hard to bear. But, Kathy, knowing how much Dennis loved you, I am convinced that his spirit will always be with all of you.
Please accept our sincere condolences and prayers that in time the good memories will replace the pain you feel right now.

We were very close to the Walker family, so close that my Dad was the Maid of Honour at Dennis’s parents wedding back in the day. We grew up together and spent many weekends at ipperwash when you could drive and park on the beach at the waters edge. Back in the 80’s and early 90’s I worked at the TV Station in London so there were time I would meet the Sarnia reporter there and do a news story. I had found out where Dennis worked at the Ministry of Environment down on Front Street in Sarnia so there were times that I would drop in to say hello when I had some free time. I wondered what Dennis’s boss was thinking when the media showed up asking for Dennis. Rest in peace cousin your struggle is over. Our sincere condolences to the family.
