Obituary of Christie Selvanesam Ignatius

IGNATIUS, Christie – With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Christie Ignatius, who left this world peacefully at the age of 94, surrounded by his loving family at Bluewater Health Palliative Care in Sarnia, Ontario. Christie was the cherished only child of Mr. and Mrs. S. Ignatius.

A devoted husband to Veronica, he was a loving father to Claudette Chandrarajan (Leonard), Rodney Ignatius (Sumathy), Annesley Ignatius (Fhem), Rienzie Ignatius (Jacintha), and the late Michelle Johnson (Kenneth). He was a proud and caring grandfather to Keith (Nirupa), Kaitlin (Elliot), Kevin, Shane (Miti), Richelle, Tasha, Derek, Dillon (Elaynah), Darian, Jeremy, Ashvini, Priya, and Devisha. His kindness and warmth extended to his great-grandchildren, Noah and Evan, who brought him immense joy.

Christie’s love for music brought happiness to those around him, his melodies filled hearts and his warm smile reflected the kindness and joy he brought into the lives of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, wisdom, and generosity will live on. Like his favorite song, You Are My Sunshine, he will forever be our sunshine.

Visitation will be held at McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, on Friday from 4-6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 11 a.m. The funeral will be liveatreamed.
