HOJKA, Kathleen Elizabeth (nee Parsons) - With great sadness, the family of Kathleen Elizabeth Hojka announces her passing at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at the age of 93. Reunited with her beloved husband of 63 years, Emil (2015). Loving mother of Helen (Mike) Akerboom, Fort Saskatchewan, AB and Margaret (the late Robert - 2016) Stephenson, Kitchener. Cherished grandmother of Chris (Crysta), Ken (Shannon), Laura (Matt), Ryan (Marie) and James. Proud great-grandmother of Tyler, Logan, Olivia, Emily and Damian. Dear sister of Mary, England. Also surviving are many nieces & nephews. Predeceased by parents Thomas (1962) & Violet (1975), sister Joyce (2011) & brother-in-law Bill Snook (2013). Kathleen was born on October 10, 1923 in Almondsbury, England, and was raised in New Passage, England. She moved to Canada in 1952 to marry Emil on December 6 and make Sarnia their home. Kathleen devoted her life to her family and home. She was an accomplished pianist and an avid gardener. Kathleen's family would like to thank Dr. Christopher Greensmith and the staff of Bluewater Health, Sarnia for the care and support given to her over the years in Sarnia and to the staff at Lanark Place and St. Mary's Hospital for the care and support given to her after her recent move to Kitchener. Visitation at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Interment service l:00 p.m. Saturday, May 13th at Resurrection Cemetery officiated by Pastor Jim Train.
